If you have a question about this talk, please contact Natalia Molina.

Join us for an hour of discussions on controversial topics related to the philosophy of Effective Altruism (EA). We’ll split into groups of about five people and go through a list of suggested topics to discuss. Questions might include:

Can extreme poverty can be eliminated? Does donating £100,000 to a museum constitute an admirable act of philanthropy or immoral use of money? How many animal lives are worth a human life?

The event is open to anyone – no background knowledge of the EA movement or philosophy required. We only ask you to come with an open mind: if you’re not willing to change your opinion, there is little point in having a debate.

Light refreshments will be on offer.

Please do let us know if you can come by checking out our Facebook Page, as there will be limited availability. Alternatively, feel free to email us at: cambridge@80000hours.org
