In this seminar I will present my on-going PhD project concerning acquisition of Chinese sentence final particles by English-speaking L2 learners. Cross-linguistic comparison between Chinese and English will be first outlined from a feature’s perspective. A refined methodology with respect to investigating the features attached to sentence final particles will then be given in detail. Some overall theoretical implications and contributions derived from the research design will be shown as well.

This talk is part of the Seminars on Chinese Linguistics and L2 Chinese series.
