This talk proposes to (re)discover Cézanne’s work in the context of his time: the Romantic and Realist influences, the close relationship with Pissarro, the late paintings prefiguring Cubism and abstract art…

We will look at numerous paintings, commenting on them in detail and relating them to the period’s wider artistic atmosphere.
