A brief overview of the analysis techniques and applications of the following instruments will be given: 1) Vista ICP -OES – rapid element concentration analysis of samples in an acid matrix 2) Quadrupole ICP -MS – high precision element concentration analysis of samples in an acid matrix and by laser ablation. 3) Element ICP -MS – high precision element concentration analysis of samples in an acid matrix and by laser ablation, including Fe. 4) Neptune and Nu MC-ICP-MS – high precision isotope analysis of samples in an acid matrix 5) TIMS and Triton T-MS – high precision isotope analysis of samples in oxide form 6) Dionex – element concentration analysis including anions This talk is part of the Isotope Coffee: Geochemistry and Petrology Seminars Department of Earth Sciences series.
