In commemoration of Holocaust Memorial Day, Dr Mark Walters explores contemporary gendered sexual violence in the context of our understanding of ‘hate crime’. Dr Walters is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Sussex University and co-founder of the International Network for Hate Studies. He has published widely in the field of hate crime, focusing in particular on the criminalisation of hate-motivated offences, the use of restorative justice in hate crime cases, and criminological theories of causation.
