How do chess masters manage to calculate efficiently and why are they always several steps ahead of your average player? This talk will demonstrate the methodical approach which chess masters use to search for the best move, including techniques which allow for calculating more than 10 moves ahead. There will also be exploration into how human calculation compares with the raw processing power of computers. No previous chess background required.
