In her talk, Vicky Donnellan will discuss research conducted with visitors to classical galleries in six UK regional museums, looking at the uses made of these collections and their outcomes and impact. The question of value and relevance for today’s museum visitors will be set into the context of the collections’ history, at the same time as aiming to spark broader discussion about the possible implications of turning the focus onto audience reception for classical reception studies.

This talk is part of the Cambridge Classical Reception Seminar Series series.
