This talk summarizes our work on power conversion from renewable low grade sources. Queensland Geothermal Energy Centre of Excellence has been established in 2009 to help the industry in its quest to generate power from enhanced (engineered) geothermal systems. Four programs aiming at reservoirs, transmission, heat exchangers and turbomachinery were then designed with the main goal of using supercritical fluid flows in the power cycle. Difficulties associated with such flow systems are listed and possibilities for future research are explored in this talk. More details can be found at: www.geothermal.uq.edu.au or by contacting the speaker.
This talk is part of the Engineering Fluids Group Seminar series.
