China's banking industry, today and tomorrow

The Chinese banking industry has seen historic changes in the scale, profitability and risk levels of its organisations over the past 35 years of reform.

Join Mr Dong Wenbiao, Chairman of China Minsheng Bank, as he identifies and discusses six key areas that the Chinese banking industry should develop to resolve the issues it still faces, including the need for further liberalisation, improvements in corporate governance and the encroaching threat of internet finance.

A sandwich lunch will be available from midday in the Common Room.

About Mr Dong Wenbiao Mr Dong Wenbiao is a member of the standing committee of the 12th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPCCC) National Committee, and the Vice Chairman of the All China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC). He formerly served as the Chairman and President of Haitong Securities and as a Director of the Bank of Communications.
