On Tuesday 20 May, Professor Peter Stohschneider, the President of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG – German Research Council) will be a guest of the Department. Strohschneider is a distinguished medievalist whose interests and publications extend to the role and purpose of the humanities in general, both within the academy as well as in society at large (see Website Prof Strohschneider). In Cambridge he will be delivering the D.H. Green Lecture (held annually in memory of Dennis Green, Schröder Professor of German, 1979-1990) on the subject of The Humanities and Society.
