This talk has been canceled/deleted The aim of my research is to explore the transition from crime to conformity among Chilean juvenile offenders and to identify theoretical, policy and practice implications from the findings. For these purposes, the research is focused towards examining two main issues: (1) how Chilean juvenile offenders move away from crime and (2) what factors may be involved in the transition from crime to conformity. This talk addresses the work carried out during the first year of my PhD. Based on a comprehensive literature review; I present the aim of my research project, its research questions, methods of data collection and ethical considerations. Finally, I will discuss how desistance from crime can be defined and operationalised. This talk is part of the Darwin College Science Seminars series.
