If you have a question about this talk, please contact nobody. This will be a tutorial talk about constructing codes for distributed compression, also called the “Slepian-Wolf” model. In this model, Alice the encoder wants to send a compressed version of her sequence X to Bob the decoder who has a correlated sequence Y. This problem has found application in several areas such as video coding, file synchronisation and sensor networks. After reviewing the information-theoretic result, I will describe how to construct codes for this model using cosets of linear codes. (Please note the 13:45 start.
