This is part of the Celebration Event of the project "Bringing Pompeii and Herculaneum to Cambridgeshire Schools" organised by Civilizations in Contact and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund
The lecture will explore what we can learn about the history of the city of Pompeii from a study of its buildings, public as well as private, and how that might relate to the broader history of Rome’s changing relationships with Italy and the wider world, as well as the transformation of Rome from a republic to an autocracy.
