Robert Merry will speak on the American Presidency at POLIS on Thursday November 8th at 4:00PM.

Robert Merry is uniquely able to to assess the incoming American president.

He is the author of three highly acclaimed books on the US Presidency and national security policy.

In June of 2012 his book Where They Stand: The American Presidents in the Eyes of Voters and Historians was published, which is a fascinating look at American presidents and how they were seen by the voters and historians.

In 2010 he wrote A Country of Vast Designs: James K. Polk, the Mexican War and the Conquest of the American Continent. And in 2008 he brought out Sands of Empire: Missionary Zeal, American Foreign Policy, and the Hazards of Global Ambition.

Robert Merry, is editor of The National Interest, an influential policy journal in Washington. He covered the Reagan White House and Congress for the Wall Street Journal and later headed Congressional Quarterly.
