We are delighted to announce that Professor Martin Goodman of Wolfson College, Oxford, to share the fruits of his research into the history of toleration within Judaism, followed by a free wine reception. Prof. Goodman has published many articles and books to great acclaim on the subject of Jews and Jewish culture in Roman times, with his exhaustive ‘Rome and Jerusalem’ arriving in 2007 to great acclaim. He is renowned for having an unparalleled knowledge of both Jewish and Classical sources, and for his subtle and considered analysis of both. He has now broadened his chronological scope, and will be discussing the history of what is currently a hugely relevant topic in Jewish society around the world and especially Israeli politics, from ancient times all the way to more modern times. Please stay for a reception afterwards to meet one of the foremost researchers in the field of Jewish Studies and Classics over some free wine. This talk is part of the CUJS series.
