Professor Fearon’s research has helped describe how the body’s immune system functions to fight pathogenic invaders and provide long lasting immunological memory. This knowledge is now being applied to investigate
the immunological milieu present within the tumour microenvironment. Professor Fearon will be discussing the functioning of the immune system in cancer, and provide insight into both the challenges and therapeutic
potential of such knowledge.
