About the speaker – Nial Peters joined Cambridge University Caving Club during his first year of undergraduate study in Cambridge in 2003. Since then he has caved in various systems all over the world including Austria, China, France and New Zealand. He first went ice caving in Svalbard, Norway in 2007 and two years later became involved with exploring ice caves on Mt Erebus volcano in Antarctica. During these explorations, he was filmed for the Attenborough documentaries entitled ‘Frozen Planet’, the first of which was broadcast on BBC1 last week.
