Launch of the Cambridge Global Health Year 2011-2012: Prioritising Partnerships for Global Health 6pm, Friday 21 October, Wolfson Hall, Churchill College, Cambridge For your free ticket visit: http://globalhealthlaunch.eventbrite.com/ The launch of the Cambridge Global Health Year will explore the meaning and impact of partnerships in Global Health: We open with 4 presentations from Cambridge-based health leaders and their overseas partners, demonstrating the potential we have here to impact health globally: Addenbrooke’s Abroad, Centre for Health Leadership and Enterprise, PLoS Medicine and PHG Foundation. The keynote address will be given by Global Health innovator, Dr. Peter A. Singer, of Grand Challenges Canada and Director at the McLaughlin-Rotman Centre for Global Health, University Health Network and University of Toronto. Dr Peter Singer, says: “It is our grandest challenge to tackle the health problems that make life expectancy in many parts of the Global South less than half of what it is in the UK. The Cambridge Global Health Year is an opportunity for many different people—from different backgrounds—to come together in partnership and catalyse change.’ Dame Sandra Dawson, KPMG Professor of Management and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, will chair the event. Drinks reception and networking to follow directly after the event in the Wolfson Foyer of Churchill College.
