Colin Tudge argues that everyone in the world could be well fed forever provided agriculture is designed specifically for these purposes. The principles that should prevail are those of morality (a true desire to feed people) and biology, rather than just a single-minded desire to make money. Farms organized on biological lines would be polycultural and integrated, minimum input, labour intensive, and generally small to medium-sized – the complete opposite of today’s industrial monocultures.
