Africans in Asia: From the Periphery to the Core

The Lecture addresses the easterly movement of Africans to Asia which throws light on the diverse circumstances of migration. Scenarios where Africans reached the corridors of power in Asia will be contrasted with the marginalised status of other Afro-Asians. Insights into the African roots of the Sidis (Afro-Indians) and issues concerning their identities will be illustrated through two documentary films produced by Beheroze Shroff (University of California, Irvine, USA .
