Join us for an evening with Professor Wale Adebanwi [2003] | Gates Cambridge Alumni Scholar and author of How to Become a Big Man in Africa: Subalternity, Elites, and Ethnic Politics in Contemporary Nigeria. Hosted by Gates Cambridge in collaboration with the Cambridge University Nigerian Society, this event offers a unique opportunity to hear from Professor Adebanwi, the Presidential Penn Compact Professor of Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. His work explores the dynamics of power, identity, and social change in Africa, with a focus on ethnicity, elites, civil society, media, and urban politics. We’re delighted to welcome him back to Cambridge for a conversation about his latest book, followed by an audience Q&A. The evening will conclude with a short reception, providing a chance to continue the conversation in a more informal setting. We look forward to seeing you at Bill Gates Sr. House.
