If you have a question about this talk, please contact Adrian Dawid. A folk-theorem says that there is no free lunch, but that might not be true. We give an outline of a program of Pardon to phrase the construction of moduli spaces in the language of moduli functors/moduli stacks. This allows one to bypass some of the technical difficulties of other approaches. In particular, proving that under suitable conditions the moduli space is a (derived) smooth manifold is considerably simplified by this approach. This talk is part of the A-side seminar series.
