Some recent developments in automated computational mathematical modelling will be presented, including the definition of a domain-specific language, the generation of low-level computer code and special optimisations strategies which are made possible by automation. The approach is particularly powerful for developing models for problems which involve various coupled physical processes. Applications of the automated approach to several problems, including the simulation of steam injection into porous media, will be presented.
