Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a severe hormone-based mood disorder. It causes debilitating psychological symptoms in the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. The majority of people with PMDD experience suicidal ideation, 1 in 2 self-harm and 1 in 3 will attempt suicide. Despite its severity it remains an under-researched and under-diagnosed mood disorder. Lynsay’s talk will give an overview of PMDD , and the research priorities identified from the UK’s first PMDD research agenda (available from pmddresearch.com/researchagenda).

This talk is part of the Department of Psychiatry & CPFT Thursday Lunchtime Seminar Series series.
