Following on from the success of the i-Teams programme, we have introduced a 2 week taster programme, to allow more students to participate, and more technologies to gain real market feedback.

Students will have the opportunity to work with real Cambridge University INVENTIONS , getting a taste of BRAINSTORMING , identifying the real-world benefits of new TECHNOLOGIES , contacting potential CUSTOMERS , and presenting their findings. Our guest speaker will be Billy Boyle, co-founder of Owlstone, the Cambridge-based developer of chemical sensing technology.

The i-Teams taster will run over 2 weeks, with three workshop sessions on Friday January 29th 2pm-5pm, Monday February 8th 6pm-9pm, and Friday February 12th 2pm-5pm. Students are also guided through independent team work by experienced business mentors.

The projects are:
  • Carbon Capture via mineralisation, Professor Derek Fray, Materials Science
  • A low-cost computer for the developing world, Jack Lang
  • Label-free detection and simultaneous analysis of biochemical interactions, Chemistry
