In this talk we consider the long-time behavior of solutions nearby steady states of the Euler and Boussinesq equations. We discuss the relaxation phenomena called inviscid damping and we exemplify how to get such damping mechanisms nearby a stratified Couette flow.

This talk is part of the Junior Analysis and PDE seminar series.
