If you have a question about this talk, please contact David Yallup. SBI has found wide acceptance as one of the leading methodologies integrating advances in machine learning with scientific inference. Is this a revolution in how we do data science in fundamental physics and what are the implications of adopting a fully simulation based approach? Are the tools and proposed methods mature enough to meet the designated goals of SBI for next generation Astro data science pipelines? I will review the recent RAS meeting discussing SBI , with a view to stoking local discussion. Time permitting, I will dive into a specific aspect of SBI that interests me the most, SBI for model comparison/hypothesis testing.
