I will introduce and survey progress on topological
mirror symmetry conjectures for Hitchin systems
for Langlands dual groups. I will propose that
considering the perverse filtration for
the Hitchin map leads to solutions to three
basic problems with the original picture:
Why two mirror symmetry conjectures? Why the same
Hodge numbers, not mirrored ones? Why geometric
Langlands, not classical Langlands?
