Lagrangian cobordisms, originally introduced by Arnold in 1980, provide an equivalence relation between families of Lagrangians in a symplectic manifold. After defining and illustrating important examples of Lagrangian cobordisms, we will focus on their Floer-theoretic aspects following Biran-Cornea. We will show that, with sufficient conditions to ensure that Floer-theory can be defined, Lagrangian cobordisms preserve Floer homology.
