I will give a general introduction to the scientific interest behind the 21cm cosmology and its theoretical basis. An overview of the theoretical and instrumentation challenges will also be shown. The current efforts in the Cavendish radio cosmology group will be highlighted in the field of 21cm astronomy and cosmology.
