This second of two lectures by Egyptian Artist, Nazli Madkour, this presentation relates the involvement and contribution of Egyptian women to the arts of Egypt. It starts with a historical background from the times of the pharaohs to modern times with a special emphasis on the mural art of Nubian women. The beginnings of Modern art in Egypt in the early 20th century and the special place of women in it is then recounted. This is followed by a selection of successive generations of women artists until present day, looking at their works and their position in contemporary Egyptian art.
