If you have a question about this talk, please contact James Walsh. Mark Farmer, CEO of Cast Consultancy, was commissioned by the UK Government in 2016 to conduct a review of the UK Construction Labour Model. Using Mark’s extensive industry experience, the review highlighted the vulnerable position of the construction industry. It became clear that the industry needed to undergo a radical transformation and continuing to do things as they had always been done would not be enough to sustain the sector. The review set out wide-ranging recommendations from greater use of off-site techniques to improved planning and training processes. The report became known as the “Farmer Review” or via its subtitle “Modernise or Die”. Six years later, Mark will discuss the progress that the industry has made, and what now needs to be completed to achieve effective change. This talk is part of the Future Infrastructure and Built Environment (FIBE) Lunchtime Seminars series. This talk is included in these lists:
