This talk has been canceled/deleted Our friend and Cambridge Geography colleague Steve Trudgill died earlier this year, just before the publication of his final book, Why Conserve Nature? Perspectives on Meanings and Motivations. In this conversational seminar, Philip Howell and Rogelio Luque Lora will reflect on Steve’s life and work, inviting colleagues and friends to reassess the questions close to his heart: what is ‘nature’ and why should we value it? What meaning do we attribute to the natural environment, and how do the stories do we tell about it speak to each other? How might scientific knowledge be complemented by the emotional attachment to places and environments? This talk is part of the Vital Geographies - Department of Geography series.
