This talk has been canceled/deleted A set of measurements is currently strongly pointing towards beyond the Standard Model in particle physics: the so-called `flavour anomalies’. I will describe these measurements in general terms and describe what new physics can explain them. The new physics quantum fields come in two classes: flavour-changing leptoquarks or Z-primes. I will say how these can be found by direct searches in particle colliders, and how they may shed light on the fermion mass puzzle. This talk is part of the Theoretical Physics Colloquium series.
