If you have a question about this talk, please contact Rory Walshe. An entire genre of films and television concerns disasters and hazards from space, particularly including asteroids. But how accurate are these popular portrayals and how are asteroid risks managed and addressed? What is the current status of and best practices for planetary defense and disaster management? This seminar will bring together international experts from the US and Europe in a discussion of contemporary asteroid deflection missions and disaster response.
