If you have a question about this talk, please contact Matthew Ireland. We are moving towards a society where data is the most valuable asset and crucial business strategy. It is the potential power of data that encourages and pressures better use. In a world where every action is essentially a new piece of data, the main task is efficiently processing and extracting only the useful bits. Among the various strategies, reducing the dimension of the dataset is worth considering. This talk will introduce the concept of dimensionality reduction and discuss various methods intended for use in different contexts. This talk is part of the Churchill CompSci Talks series.
