If you have a question about this talk, please contact al653. We would like to invite you to the roundtable “Translational Science in the UK”, the second of the webinar series “Alternatives to academia” in which we will discuss the programs that promote the collaboration between academia and industry. Especially, we will be talking about Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) schemes. Innovate UK set up the Knowledge Transfer Partnership over 40 years ago to improve the competitiveness of businesses of any sector by using the skills and knowledge of the UK academic institutions. The programme, funded extensively by Innovate UK, connects businesses with universities through a KTP associate to develop a joint project. The objective is to commercialise the knowhow of the academic institutions and help the business grow, while the associates acquire managerial and marketing skills. This roundtable will be of interest to graduates at any level who are looking to gain experience in industry while keeping a close relationship with academia, and to learn an extensive set of transferable skills. It will also be of interest to established researchers that want to commercialise the outcome of their research in a low risk environment as well as to business managers that are looking for new business opportunities.
