Drawing on over fifty interviews undertaken by the speaker, the paper will explore some of the experiences of the children born in the 2nd World War to Black GIs and British white women, particularly focusing on the racism they underwent, their felt exclusion from ‘Britishness’ and their long search for a sense of belonging.
