If you have a question about this talk, please contact Dr Moritz Baumstark. This talk has been canceled/deleted Bullying is a widely occurring phenomenon in secondary schools, one that is worth studying for its social implications as well as its psychological dimensions. My research project, insofar as it focuses on coping strategies in secondary school males, emphasizes the importance of the psychological aspect. This seminar will present the most employed definition of bullying and illustrate it with a range of examples drawn from my own research. Various theories of bullying and resilience, as well as details concerning my methodology, are introduced with the objective of comparing a range of different coping strategies that I discovered with those in extant studies. Finally the notion of hegemonic masculinity, as vehicle behind bullying amongst secondary school males, will be elucidated in the light of my research project.
