Come to the Department of Chemistry to hear from the legendary alchemy expert, experimenter, and the second speaker of the IYPT Symposium – Dr Andrew Szydlo FRSC ! Known for his fabulous textbooks on the history of chemistry and epic performances at The Royal Institution, Dr Szydlo graduated from Imperial College London and obtained a PhD in history & philosophy of science from University College London. As well as giving numerous public talks, Dr Szydlo is also involved in chemistry education through his occupation, as a teacher at Highgate School, London. TCSS and ChemSoc have come together, on occasion of the IUPAC International Year of Periodic Table of Chemical Elements 2019, to bring you this talk as part of the larger IYPT Celebration Symposium. Dr Szydlo intends to outline (from historical perspective) the role of hydrogen in the universe! It will take place in the Bristol-Myers-Squibb Lecture Theatre, starting at 19:30. The talk has free entry, and refreshments will be provided. We hope to see you there!
