This talk will describe the architectures of Altera’s Stratix III (65nm) and Stratix IV (45nm) FPG As, and the methodology used to create them. Programmable power is a key feature of these devices which leverages body back-bias to reduce static power without impacting design speed. Extensive experimentation also led to a new block and distributed RAM architecture, and a more routable interconnect architecture.

This talk is part of the CAS FPGA Talks series.
