The Four Foundations of Mindfulness

This is a talk and meditation session on the Buddhist teachings of mindfulness and how to practically apply it in our daily lives. The talk will be followed by a guided meditation and Q&A. The speaker is Venerable Kamburawala Rewatha Thero, who is the resident monk and an excellent Buddhist teacher from the Scotland’s Buddhist Vihara.

This is part of the annual Vesak celebration organized by Cambridge University Buddhist Society to commemorate the birth, enlightenment and the Parinibbana of the Buddha. You are welcome to attend just the talk, or the whole event. The programme is below:

  • 9:00 – Start, introduction to Vesak and short chanting
  • 9:30 – Talk, Q&A and meditation led by Ven. Kamburawala Rewatha Thero
  • 11:00 – Offerings to Buddha
  • 11:30 – Meal offering to the venerable monks
  • 12:15 – Lunch for lay people
  • 13:00 – Blessing by the venerable monks and end of the programme

This event is free and open to all. We hope to see many of you there!
