Like the Industrial Revolution impacted manufacturing, digital transformation is now responsible for changing the industry. Now, manufacturing companies are using technology to move from mass production to customized production, and it’s happening at a rapid pace. Consumer expectations and the advent of connected devices and platforms are driving the persistent digitization of the manufacturing. This talk will review the digitalization of smart objects in relation to the deployment of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Industry 4.0. Their digital manufacturing using printing and related challenges will be also addressed.

This talk is part of the Electrical Engineering series.
