If you have a question about this talk, please contact Peter Robinson. This lecture addresses such a creative relationship in the light of some industry funded applied research activities. The first study is related to solving a vibration problem in stationary equipment. Heat exchanger, an essential component in power plants and petrochemical industries, is known to suffer flow-induced vibrations, which damage tube bundles and shorten their service life. Mechanical Standards (TEMA) has set some guidelines to predict the onset of such damaging vibrations. This talk is part of the Alfaisal University Engineering Seminars series.
