I will review recent progress in the methods used to investigate exoplanets, and how they are opening the chance to study climatic, geological and possibly biological processes beyond the Solar system. Particularly, I will present the recent discovery of the TRAPPIST -1 and what we have learned of its seven Earth-like worlds.
