If you have a question about this talk, please contact Kasia Wyczesany. On a scale of decades to centuries, the ice sheets over Antarctica and Greenland flow as gravity currents. However, unlike, say, golden syrup on a plate, ice sheets show significant slipping at their base. I will discuss simple models of this, and their derivations, based on the rheology of ice, and the basal conditions of the sheets. This talk is part of the Part III Seminars series.
