If you have a question about this talk, please contact Kasia Wyczesany. I will discuss a generalisation of Sobolev spaces for maps between Riemannian manifolds and the properties they satisfy. The focus will be on the global approximation problem: can every Sobolev mapping be approximated by a sequence of smooth functions? Suprisingly the answer depends on the topology of the spaces, which I will illustrate through examples. This talk is part of the Part III Seminars series.
