The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 is a line of Android-based tablets designed, developed and marketed by Samsung Electronics. They were unveiled at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event on February 9, 2022 and serve as successors to the Galaxy Tab S7 lineup.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 sets a new standard for premium Android tablets. It is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 2020 and one of the best tablets out there.

Measuring 10×6.5×0.2 inches and weighing 1.1 kilos, the Tab S8 is comfortable to hold, even during long gaming breaks or reading on the sofa.

You might be wondering what is my screen resolution? Answer is that much like its predecessors, the Galaxy Tab S8 has an 11-inch (2560×1600 pixels) WQXGA LED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Tab S8+ features a super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800×1752 in 12.4 inches, with a screen ratio of 16:10 while Tab S8 Ultra is equipped with a super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2960×1848 measuring 14.6 inches, with a screen ratio of 16:10.

Your tablet will instantly lock onto 120 Hz speed, meaning you’ll get smooth scrolling and animation in the UI as well as supported apps and games. The 120Hz refresh rate is constant, meaning it doesn’t change to save power, but stays at 120Hz all the time. If you want, you can lower the refresh rate to 60Hz to save battery life. Scrolling is a little smoother at 60Hz, but not bad.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Plus offers its owner many setting options such as light/dark mode, blue light reduction, touch sensitivity, zoom level, font and size, and the like. It allows you to customize the look, feel, and behavior of the screen.

It’s a great display, not the best money can buy, but as good as I’ve seen from similarly priced Android tablets on the market.

And like its predecessor, the screen looks bright and colorful and offers a nice, smooth scrolling experience thanks to the adaptive refresh rate (which dynamically adjusts the refresh rate to 120Hz rather than staying at 60Hz), although you can adjust the refresh rate to 60Hz in the display settings. tablet to reduce battery consumption. The screen defaults to Vivid mode, which makes colors slightly brighter, but you can change it to the Natural setting or use Advanced mode to adjust the hues yourself.

The screen looks colorful and quite impressive at maximum brightness. The Tab S8’s display peaked at 480 nits in the middle, with an average brightness of 463 nits across the screen. That’s incredibly bright for an Android tablet, dwarfing even the Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 (390 nits average brightness). Galaxy Tab S8 screen can be set to Vivid or Natural. In practice, I prefer the “Vivid” setting, as the colors appear brighter and more saturated. However, if you value color fidelity, it’s better to leave it at “Natural”. When we pointed our colorimeter at it, the Tab S8’s display achieved 101.1% of the sRGB color space in Natural mode and 157.8% in Vivid mode.

It’s a bit disappointing that this gorgeous screen isn’t OLED and doesn’t support HDR . OLED screens and HDR content are still hard to find on tablets, but that’s changing fast, including the Tab S8’s larger sibling, the Tab S8 Plus and the Tab S8 Ultra, with their 120Hz Super AMOLED displays.
