Notting Hill is one of the world-famous neighbourhoods in London, England. It is known for its’ vibrant colours, charming streets and lively atmosphere. From chic restaurants to famous movie spots, the vibe of Notting Hill caters to a diverse crowd. Visitors of Notting Hill can find a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes to explore. 

  • Notting Hill Carnival

Notting Hill Carnival is the largest street festival of Europe, held every year on the streets of west London. It dates back to 1966 when it was known as the Notting Hill Street Festival, launched by the local Caribbean community with only one sound system. Today the two-day event attracts over one million people to the streets of Notting Hill every year with its’ colourful and vibrant ambience.

  • Portobello Market

The Portobello Road Market is one of the most famous street markets in the world and is a must-visit for anyone visiting London. The point of it all is to find treasure, whether it’s a bargain or a major find. You can start at the most famous part, around the corner of Ladbroke Grove and Kensington Park Road, and wander up to Golborne Road and Stanley Gardens or down to Westbourne Grove and Notting Hill Gate. You’ll find antiques, bric-a-brac, collectables, vintage clothing, original art, jewellery and books. The famous travel book shop is also located here for movie lovers of Notting Hill.

How to get to Notting Hill

If you’re looking to get to Notting Hill, there are a few different options available to you. You can take public transportation, such as the bus or tube, or you can drive there. If you’re taking public transportation, the best way to get there is by taking the Central line to Notting Hill Gate station. From there, it’s just a short walk to the famous Portobello Road Market. If you’re driving, you can park in one of the many public parking garages or on the street. Just be sure to read the signs carefully, as parking regulations can be confusing in London. Once you’re in Notting Hill, you’ll find plenty of things to do in Notting Hill, from exploring the market to visiting the famous bookshops on Blenheim Crescent.
