The Cambridge Statistics Initiative (CSI) addresses the increasing needs for statistical knowledge within UK academia and industry, primarily by expanding the mathematical statistics work and expertise within the Statistical Laboratory.

The major partner of the CSI is the Engineering Department and through strong links to application areas, the research fostered will bring greater value to UK industry.

The Cambridge Statistics Initiative is financed by EPSRC Science & Innovation Scheme, awarded to Cambridge University in 2006, the Isaac Newton Trust, the School of Physical Sciences and the Department of Pure Maths and Mathematical Statistics.
